Did you honestly think for a moment I’d have offed the contest character after one appearance?

I was genre savvy enough to be reasonably certain you wouldn’t. 🙂 Kinda hoping they end up on Team Claw though, or be decently funny antagonists. You’re doing it right, Zappit. 😀

Gotta admit, though, it would’ve been kind of funny if he had.

How come Plasma/Laser guns/blasters never land a killing blow unless they charge-up super loudly for a really long time? And why does no-one ever aim for the head?
By AceOfSpade Fri Apr 27th 2018 at 11:53 am
The head is a smaller target, so it’s harder to hit, especially when it’s moving. Aiming for the torso means it’s easier to actually hit and it’s also full of vital organs that people don’t want to lose.

As an a former soldier I can tell you definitively the both military and police are trained to aim at center mass (basically the torso) because its just makes sense to aim at the easiest target to hit. Boxers can tell you the same thing, the head is a lot harder to strike than the body.

Also because one wounded soldier equals two killed ones. More if like in the military movies the sniper can kill a number of other soldiers trying to fetch the wounded one.

So true, the wounded are a huge inconvenience to a battlegroup. Slows up all the works and takes resources away from the mission.

This is starting to sound like a PSA…. the more you know *-*

Heh, I was about to post what AceOfSpade and Bracey said (less any references to real-world experience), Badlands Jonny, and that is because it is kind of a Public Service Announcement. This is a really common complaint about fight scenes, and perhaps that is why it is also often misapplied. Headshots are naturally more difficult to make than torso shots, and especially in a setting like this, containing super-powered beings and ultra-tech armor, you shouldn’t underestimate head protection, either. Risk versus rewards and all that. 🙂

Ah, I like it! It probably wouldn’t have been an even fight if not for the surprise round our two antagonists got themselves but it really looks like our heroes (sorry, wrong word) are in for a fight!
