I’m going to update the vote incentive art later tonight with a new piece of concept art for the next comic. I already posted it on Twitter, but I’m pretty sure only a few people saw it there.
Anyhoo, have a great week!

Not quite as bad as guessing a woman is pregnant and being wrong.

I like how Anna’s expression does not change one iota between panels two and three. 🙂
I also like the movies listed on the wall. 😉

Not to mention Severance Package: the Bobbitt Story.

The left post in panel 2-3 reminds me of Sky-High from “Tiger & Bunny” anime.

Oh! I thought it was a parody of the Rocketeer, and couldn’t figure out the “-KY HI” reference.

Y’know, this strip is even funnier if you consider how gays have been handled in superhero media in recent years:
Almost every Superheroine who isn’t gay, is single
In the America Chavez solo series, the only straight person who wasn’t portrayed as completely evil, wished she was a lesbian
The reveal that Iceman is gay was so poorly written, a lot of fans subscribe to the theory that Jean Grey just brainwashed him. This is supported by the fact that every story since has Jean breaking a lot of Marvel’s long held telepath ethics, and the fact that Bobby has become a complete jerk since the reveal (His response to his parent’s talking about offering his younger time-displaced self his old room was to yell at them) and let’s face it, if they wanted to give a gay X-Men his own solo series, they could’ve just brought back NorthStar, Freedom Ring or Shatterstar and had zero controversy
And just last week both the CW’s hit shows, Arrow & The Flash, had the kids of the heroes revealed to be gay in the same week, but different episodes. Which even some gay people found to be a bit much

I mean, have gay characters if you want, just put some effort into how you handle them
By Inbetweenaction Mon Nov 12th 2018 at 2:40 pm
Or, you know, go the other way. put in absolutly Zero effort into how you handle them. just have them show up with a same sex partner, and say nothing about it. If asked, just go “what, yeah, he is gay, that is why he has a same sex partner, duh?”

To be fair, some of the “accepted” openly homosexual characters had a rough time of it at first. I never read a lot of stuff with Northstar in it, to the point I had to look up Northstar’s history on Wikipedia to see if his sexuality had been confirmed before I even began reading comic books. It had been strongly implied for much longer, with the occasional counter-implication to keep it ambiguous. Read up on Shatterstar’s history. There was fan backlash to the reveal because – short version – his creators had something different in mind, which I think sounded more interesting, for him.

Hmm! The introduction had me wondering, “magician colleague or lawyer colleague?” but if Anthony is worried about billable hours then my guess would be that she’s a lawyer. ^_^

Unless Anthony was talking up the date as if “Magic was going to happen!”

This is great. I love it when the situation itself is funny instead of just a punchline.

The good news is that Si’Ri & Paralegal don’t spy on her or analyze her metadata
