Every superhero/villain has those “rookie stories” and “growing pains”. Donna Steward is just getting them out of the way now.

A good thing to know about your powers. XD Maybe because I’m used to an RPG system where characters are built from available traits, purchased with “Character Points” and you’re allowed to alter traits with a variety of “Enhancements” (make the power able to do more, but also makes it cost more) and “Limitations” (makes the power able to do less, but also makes it cost less), “Does it affect others?” is a really common question. 😉
For characters that can “phase” like this, the other is “Can you affect the substantial world while insubstantial”?, “Can you affect things partially?” as well as “Are there any other guidelines applicable?” Character can get crazy powerful when one forgets that story and setting integrity should often trump assumed natural relationships. Generally if it grants another power “for free”, the fact that it is an aspect of the first power just means great, you’re justified in having the second. Obviously it is a bit more complicated and detailed for the actual game, but I find when designing a character for fiction, its a good rule of thumb as well.

Which games do you play?

If you want to be technical… none right now. =P
My attempts at joining an existing group or setting up a new one tend to fall apart (I am kinda picky, so that’s on me). I still regularly dink around with GURPS 4e and until I needed to sell it off, I had a pretty solid GURPS 3e library. So while it might be a bit misleading, I still consider GURPS my default system. I’ve even had dreams that tried to run on the rules set, or at least as much as one’s brain can try to process it while dreaming (…it was so weird @_@).
It gets a bit odd past that. For one thing most of it was with the same gaming group and we tended to alternate GMs, systems and even campaigns within the same system (so it might be a GURPS session two times in a row, but one was Campaign A run by GM 1 while the other was Campaign B run by GM 2). I probably have the most experience next with the WEG Star Wars RPG (the D6 system version). I would have preferred it run on GURPS, but as a whole it was pretty good and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I never owned any of the books though, just borrowed them from my friend (the GM, who had a spare copy iirc).
After that is the Old World of Darkness by White Wolf. I didn’t actually play it that much; we tried a few times to get a game going but they tended to die (the game, not the characters) pretty quick due to extenuating circumstances (plus game overload – like I said most of this is concurrent). I did start buying the books (and including the GURPS licensed books for the setting, hoping to adapt a few things for other games). Then I had an odd notion that if I could fudge things a bit, OWoD might make the basis for a decent Transformers: Beast Machines RPG (especially if one tweaked some story elements – not a lot of people I know consider BM a sacred cow for Transformers). I went a bit overboard and had a decent selection of OWoD books, with all the Changing Breeds books I could find (not much for tribes, but most of the distinct kinds). I had to sell those off as well.
I had the basic player’s book for Hackmaster as well as for D&D 3e. For the latter I was part of a campaign but was very hit-or-miss for attendance. For the former I only found a group that met for short (2 hours max) sessions, and it took one or two of those just to get my character built – then something happened (don’t remember what) and I had to give up on the Hackmaster group.
That… actually probably covers it all.
