This one took a bit longer to draw. There’s a lot of detail to worry about.
So…over the few weeks, I’ve realized that many of my current and upcoming storylines are starting to look more like a natural conclusion to Supervillainous, like we’re getting to the end. After a lot of thought and consideration, I’ve decided to let that happen. Supervillainous is going to end in the near future. There’s no definite end-date to mark on the calendar; I’d rather do this right and create the most satisfying ending I can write. It could take anywhere from a few months to a year, but it will happen, and we’ll say goodbye to the Claw family and friends. There’s still quite a bit of story left to tell, so let’s not worry about that today.
This wasn’t an easy decision, but I’ve made it for a number of reasons. First, as I mentioned, it just feels like that time is coming, and I’ve been building to it without fully realizing it. Second, I still have other stories to tell – other projects I want to work on. I want to do different things while I’ve got the chance. Third, I have never truly finished a webcomic, having left a trail of incomplete comics behind me. I want to be able to say I’ve done it, that I’ve really seen a major project through to the end. These characters have been good to me, and they deserve a proper send-off.
On that note, I fully intend to start a new project shortly after the completion of Supervillainous. It might not be in the superhero genre, but it will be funny.

It’s a shame to hear you’re going to end Supervillainous, but I look forward to what you plan on doing next.

Same here… It’s a great comic with great characters and humour
Though the things I’m gonna miss most about this series is its Fan Character Contests, those were always fun. If Supervillainous is ending in a year then I find it unlikely that there’s gonna be another one, which is a pity cause personally I had a great villain and a great hero in mind, oh well.
Good Luck with your next series Zappit! I’m sure it’ll be as awesome and fun as this one

I’ve likewise enjoyed the ride, and I’ll definitely be checking out whatever comes next.

I’ll join the others in saying that this was a great series. Good luck with whatever you’re doing next and I most certainly will look forward to seeing it. ^_~

I wonder if Henry’s gonna use his famous real-life swear; Thunderous Oaths
Other Tudor swears, courtesy of Horrible Histories (mainly used/inverted by Shakespeare) include:
– Thou Knotty-Pated Fool
– Stuffed Cloak-Bag of Guts
– You Starveling
– You Vile Standing Tuck
– Horse-Back-Breaker
– You Dried Neat’s Tongue
– Huge Bombard of Sack
– Bolting Hutch of Beastliness
– Huge Hill of Flesh
–
A really mean insult was:
– You Bull’s Pizzle
And finally, William Shakespeare’s greatest in was:
– You Prince of Wales (no seriously, that was an incredibly nasty insult back then)

Whoops… Forgot the type the one after Huge Hill of Flesh, it was:
– Swollen Parcel of Dropsies

That is freaking fantastic!

It’s been a great ride, and I definitely trust you to end it in a satisfying way. The best stories don’t go on indefinitely, even if we might want them to. Looking forward to what comes next!

Sad to hear it’s ending but glad to hear it’s ending in an appropriate and voluntary fashion rather than vanishing off a cliff somewhere.
Please do us all a favor though: when it ends, please go back and remove all the update/status/random filler pages once you are done. Nothing annoys me more than going back to an old comic and finding “no comic this week” type pages that are long past relevance everywhere in the archive. It really breaks up the reading experience when it’s not actually relevant.

They’re STILL unconscious? In the real world that indicates a serious brain injury, not a simple KO. Fortunately this is a fictional world where the rules are not always the same as in this world and, as in many comic book universes, a knock-out that lasts a long time is probably perfectly normal. I feel like many people don’t understand that I’m works of fiction that are not REALISTIC fiction, the rules and setting do not need to be the same as in our world. All the people giving shit for this inaccuracy or that, for some fact about coal or the actual reality of conflict diamonds aren’t wrong and are providing interesting and topical information but when they phrase it as a criticism they lose sight of the fact that it’s a fictional world where some people can fly. The rules are what the author makes them as in ALL stories so conflict diamonds can be one of the biggest problems in the world if that’s the sting he chooses (sorry if this sounds unnecessarily vehement for something that stopped being discussed a bit ago but I felt it needed to be said. No offense meant to anyone.) Speaking of world’s I’ll be sorry to leave this one but happy to see the story reach a good conclusion. I trust you a great deal as a storyteller Zap, and have faith you won’t pull an Andrew Hussie on us. I’m sure I’ll await the updates for your new comic as eagerly as I have for this one. But for now of course, my thoughts turn towards Monday and it’s revelation as to whether the Actioneer can keep his mouth shut and if not, how good he is at spear dodging.

If I was to be questioned and/or beaten as soon as I wake up, I’d stay “unconscious”.
By DannyboyO1 Sat Aug 18th 2018 at 1:12 am
Yeah, stories have conclusions. That’s awesome that you get to reach one. And can do a different story. ^_^

I applaud your decision. Not because I want you to quit, but because of how difficult and mature of a decision that it is. So very few actually do a decent ending. I think in the many years I have been reading comics, web or otherwise I’ve actually only seen one come to an ending conclusion.
By Mujaki Sat Aug 18th 2018 at 10:50 am
Better to have the story end, instead of merely… stop.
By DJenky Sat Aug 18th 2018 at 12:39 pm
Well, Supervillainous has been fantastic! I’m excited to see where we end up by the conclusion. I’m also excited to see what you do next.
By Piero Sat Aug 18th 2018 at 6:07 pm
This is one the best comic I’ve ever read (and I’ve read a LOT of comics)!
I’m sure the conclusion will be fantastic 😀
It would be really nice to see this comic published!!!!

I feel – well, I feel that it’s your comic, and if it keeps showing endings and you follow ’em, then it’ll end. Question is, do you see anything *past* the ending arc you have in mind?
I do have a regret though. The Actioneer is an interesting character, and I would have liked to see him developed further. (I mean across major arcs. 🙂 )

Endings are okay when they make sense, as I’m sure this one will.
