And here we are – number 500! It’s also the 5th anniversary of Supervillainous, so it’s doubly special!
I put up a new vote incentive piece, with a special message to you, my wonderful readers. You’ve been a big part of why this comic has been so much fun to create and why I keep doing it. Thank you for that.

Haha, damn. Got a little meta for a second there. Hey, thanks for sticking with this for five years. I think it’s cool I got to be here for about three of them. It’s so great how you get to let your fans participate in little ways and that, and your reliability and wonderful characters, really make you stand out from the crowd. I’m currently keeping up with about two dozen webcomics right now and I’ve read countless others. I’m always most excited for your updates for these reasons. Everything is so interesting and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. That said, there’s so much more I want to know. What did Defernder X say to Ultimo? Was it important? What’s the secret of Claw’s belt? How will the interstellar community fare? Is Kaley going to conquer the world with her big Sister or will they split it among each other? The next 5 years are going to be great.

It’s so crazy it might work! Or that’s what they used to say when I was a kid.

ADD is a lie parents told themselves in the 90s so that could validate drugging the hell out of their perfectly healthy kids.
ADHD was real but incredibly overblown, if you have it coffee (or caffeine in general) puts you to sleep. Certain uppers and downers are reversed in your head, once you learn what they are life becomes 100% normal.
Both were overmedicated so that parents could have A+ students instantly instead of raising their kids to balance work and play (like a functional human being).

Oh, and before someone else mentions it:
Adult ADD is simply a mistaken label in which an adult still utilizes the “hyper learning state” that all human children instinctively use when learning, if one has learned how to make use of these rapid threading of thoughts it is entirely beneficial. If they have not learned to utilize the longevity of their brain’s functionality, they are wasting an extension of their youthful potential (yes, people with AADD have a more youthful brain that still has some amount of neurons to generate well past the normal ages for such. They still hold a childs capacity to learn at crazy speeds.)
American societies insistence that hyperactivity prevents learning does more harm than good. (if one guides hyper children into puzzle-solving, they will learn at astounding rates while synthesizing all the information in their surroundings. “Distracted in class” my foot, more like the class has too little to learn from and these kids get bored.)

Citation needed. I’ll stick with the people with some actual evidence and experience living with ADD. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhcn1_qsYmg there’s this charming lady with a whole series on the subject. Lots of adorable complex statements like “pills don’t give skills” because she kinda needs the rhyming mnemonics to remember things and also because while certain medications do help with certain symptoms, therapy/education can help teach ways to adapt and overcome.
But the key thing that proves you’re wrong about whether ADD exists is that the medications do a thing for the sufferers that it doesn’t do for people without the condition. It’s stimulants, and the suffers calm down on them, while non-sufferers go the other way. That alone proves there’s a neurochemical difference.
You’ve done as much research as the anti-vax people… do better, please?

Congratulation on you 500th strip. I have stuck with you since you introduced Frederick, the vampire all the way back in 2013.
It is an awesome comic and I really love the way you interact with your readership. Good luck on you endeavors.

The author doesn’t know just how good synthetic diamonds have gotten, to the point where they’re virtually indistinguishable from the real thing. The only people still pushing “real” diamonds are jewelers who want to drive a price premium for them. The market for mined diamonds is diminishing rapidly already as consumers realize manmade ones look just as good for way less money. The Chinese are despised among jewelers because they’re flooding the world diamond supply with near-perfect replicas and jewelers with decades of diamond identification experience can’t tell the difference without the use of extremely sophisticated spectroscopic technology. I dunno, maybe if you researched what you were writing stories about you would realize blood diamonds are almost a non-issue already and in our lifetime they will be completely a non-issue. This comic has really gone downhill since Claw’s future daughter took over. It’s like…the author is using her as an outlet for his power fantasies where he fixes everything in the world. You know, those fantasies we all have but we keep in our heads.

I’m sorry you’ve been disappointed. The Supervillainous world is only loosely based on this one, and yes, I did research the matter of synthetic diamonds and the like. I just decided to go with the story concept anyway. I also don’t think the criticism of How I’m using Anna is entirely fair. She has different motivations than her father, but I tried to make her reasoning believable. She saw the Earth reduced to an apocalyptic nightmare, and is bent on preventing it from happening again.
As for the “power fantasy” criticism, the same argument could have been made for the original Claw. He figured out how to gain unlimited wealth, was basically immune to legal consequences due to his magic lawyer, and made himself into the leader of an army. He even told off the president. They aren’t so dissimilar. It’s just their motivations that differ.

Don’t let it get to too much Zappit
At least you actually listen and do you best to write a good story, unlike say, SJW Marvel which just calls any critics ‘racists’ and ‘misogynists’ despite the fact that they’ve experience a massive drop in comic book sales for nearly two years every since they started to implement the changes that got them the criticism in the first place

I like how chill Claw is about Anna instead taking the “fixing the world’s problems” route to this. A supportive father, even if his daughter isn’t a full-blown supervillain like he was.

Hahaha, love the meta joke and congrats on 5 years of comics!
