The Actioneer is going to be a pretty big ancillary character. It’s one that I really enjoy writing, and could easily spin off in his own comic. I’d need an artist willing to work for free, but I could do it.
I tell you this because this comic was very nearly his. The Claw was originally going to be one of The Actioneer’s nemeses, and not even a major one at that. It was only after fleshing out some of those ancillary characters that I decided to promote one front and center, and that’s how Supervillainous came to be.

The Actioneer huh?
Looks like it’s time to clean out the deathtraps and get them working again……….

Oh, my gosh. I like him already. 😀

Strips like this are why I follow this comic so closely. I love the banter between Claw and Ultimo, and am looking forward to the day they are frenemies.

I like that term. “Frenemies.” They do seem to share that dynamic. Ultimo doesn’t seem to begrudge Claw and Claw doesn’t seem to hate Ultimo, despite them being on the opposite ends of the capes and spandex spectrum. They respect one another professionally and their rivalry as archenemies is more or less a series of pranks and counter pranks, broken up by whenever they need to do their jobs and then assess will be kicked.

Cool to know the secret origins of the comic. And I have the feeling I’ll greatly enjoy the Actioneer.

Clearly the best way for Claw to get even is to send a member of the family guard as liaison to the heroes.

Actioneer reminds me of Deadpool for some reason? Probs the mask and sarcasm…

Except it backfires for me; I keep thinking of Doorman. Coincidentally, I first saw Doorman in Deadpool’s original ongoing monthly title. XD

Man, it’s nowhere near as much fun when you already know what’s going to happen.

The first time I read it. I thought he was the auctioneer, which actually fits the Claws discription of him pretty well.

That’s what I read it as, too! Then I got to the comments and noticed there was no U…

Yeah… but “Actioneer” doesn’t really make much sense to me either. “Action”
is such a vague verb/noun. I have no idea what his name is intended to mean or imply.

this is gonna be fun!

… How ’bout an artist that scans paper, rather than use fancy programs? 3:
