Seriously though, Actioneer is going to need a very, very impressive power set. Have we heard anything on that officially? If not, let’s have fun trying to guess it. 😉 Either Spider-Man or Deadpool seem like influences (and depending on who is telling it, the real world origin for Deadpool sometimes is “ninja Spider-Man”). So
-Spider-Man route: heightened speed/reflexes, perhaps coupled with some level of danger sense to help him avoid injury
-Deadpool route: improved healing and regenerative powers so that he gets hurt a lot, but he just gets better fast.
-Domino route: She’s more relevant right now than Longshot, isn’t she? Anyway, luck, probability, or whatever-you-wanna-call-it powers, which would probably be even more infuriating given the Actioneer’s insufferable nature. In universe it just wouldn’t seem fair as everything “goes right” for Actioneer but “goes wrong” for everyone else
-Other: I can come up with more, but I said I wanted this to be a discussion, so I should probably not try and exhaust all possibilities. Plus like I said this may have already been revealed and I just missed it or forgot. >.>

Spiderman sounds like the right place to begin. Partly because the version I remember of him seemed to be a compulsive smart aleck and who found ways to get under other people’s skin even when he was trying to be polite, but also because a name like Actioneer seems to me to imply that Acty gets more actions per melee round then anyone else so that I was thinking of him as a super-speedster type like Barry Allen (The Flash of Earth 1) or Jay Garrick (The Flash of Earth 2). Then again that “surprisingly tenacious” bit sounds like Spidey as well.
Which does bring up another notion – Spidey seemed to be trying to be an extrovert in his hero id while being more of an introvert in his real id. I wonder if the same is true of Actioneer as well and he’s using his hero id to try to deal with some shyness issues in his normal life? o_O

Hmm, fair point Towering Barbarian. It didn’t occur to me to take his name so literally, even though a good deal of characters do just that. Part of it is his costume gives me an kind of “action hero” vibe, which is where I went with Actioneer. If could be some form of supers speed. Just because I like to speculate, another possibility are that his powers basically turn his life into a living action movie. In fact it might be funny if instead of super speed… he technically slows everyone else down within a certain area which makes it look like an action movie scene. XD

For some reason I’m actually getting the deadpool vibe more from the auctioneer. Just that Dickish attitude and over all mirth for being a dick. I’m expecting him to tap on the fourth wall any moment now.

Not much of a surprise Actioneer. At this rate A.V. will vow to cause him internal bleeding through blunt force.

I think the right expression here is “annoyingly tenacious”: if his superpower is being annoying, then the ability to remain alive no matter what is obviously part of his assets

Mabie he can annoy the aliens to death.

something tells me he read so many comics and watched so many sci-fi shows (explains the way he is) and then gained the power off immortality…and then.. he realized he had a calling…to annoy the heck out of everyone full well knowing he ain’t gonna die XD

A: “My allies keep saying that if anyone gets to kill me, it should be them, because they’ve had to put up with me much longer. Thing is, I hang out with heroes mostly, you know, ethical types, and murdering someone just for being annoying is really more of an evil villain thing.”

Actioneer: “My allies keep saying that if anyone gets to kill me, it should be them, because they’ve had to put up with me much longer. Thing is, I hang out with heroes mostly, you know, ethical types, and murdering someone just for being annoying is really more of an evil villain thing, which they can’t stand to become. On the other hand, genuinely evil villains don’t really want the attention of large numbers of heroes, so both groups sort of balance out their impotent hatred of me quite nicely.”
A.V.: “……….You’ve spent way too much time thinking this out.”
