Actually, I like that his kids are all excited about parent/teacher night, and not all disappointed. Although, I suppose if one were an archvillain, one might have kids that thought you were cool, despite being their parent. It’s within the realm of possibility, anyway; at least until they’re solidly teenagers.

…And note that it’s the younger child that’s most excited by the idea. I think you’re on to something.
When the parent(s) work a lot, the kids may also see any time they get to spend with their parent as a positive, doubly so when they can connect said parent to their own daily lives (such as a school event).
Now, Claw’s kids live in their Daddy’s workplace, so they probably don’t feel so disconnected from their working parent’s life as many others, but that could still be a factor in why Kyle’s looking forward to this.
