The flashback sequence is over, answering almost all the questions about The Crimson Claw’s origins, but I’m saving a few others for later.
There’s a new Featured Comic, as well. Random Battles is another new Spiderforest comic. It’s a fun manga style comic that seems to be in the magical girl genre, only the magical girls are background characters. It’s a fresh, different take on an old genre, and I think that’s applause worthy. Won’t you go see for yourself?

Running out of discretionary time. Too many comics being added to the reading list. ๐
The return of golden portal. I’ll volunteer to help Claw. Not sure how I could defeat the aliens with baked goods. Maybe major health issues caused by homemade ice cream (brain freeze and clogged arteries)? Death by Chocolate (it’s a cookbook, it’s a dessert, it’s a deadly weapon).

If he uses his infinite gold to pay off nearly all the super villains in the world (or even just the U.S.) then gold is, or at least should be, about to become worthless. Which would put Claw in an interesting position of being both broke and having the world’s super villains hate him.
But that’s something to worry about after the alien apocalypse is averted.

He’d just start paying in something else. No matter how many things he uses as payments, there’s always going to be another valuable thing to devalue through duplication. ๐

Huh, nice of him to give them an option. This is what makes Claw so different and the best choice to lead the villain community. Firm and gentle touch that can quickly become a fist to crush you.

He seems to take the Baron Wulfenbach approach to leadership: “Don’t make me come over there”. Perfectly reasonable right up to the instant you do something stupid.
By Ladon Mon Jan 29th 2018 at 11:49 pm
I never saw it that way but thatโs a very apt description. Except while the Baron rules all with an iron fist that none dare invoke the wrath of, Claw leads with… well… a Crimson Claw. That everyone wants to stay on the good side of. But only when he HAS to, unlike the good Baron.

Yay! for the Crimson Claw!
Yip! Yip! Yay! to zappitcomic for good storytelling!

“You either work for me willingly and get paid, or I blackmail you into it and you get nothing other than your secrets staying safe. There is no draft avoidance here. Not this time.”
… Well, that’s a paraphrase of Claw’s point in the last two panels in something along the lines of movie mafia thug language.

Claw might not be the strongest villain, but he’s definitely one of the most resourceful.
By Narwhalz Tue Oct 20th 2015 at 2:42 am
Really, he seems to be the strongest to me, I mean he’s strong arming the entire room.
By Insanity Mon Oct 19th 2015 at 5:52 pm
So… to power up for this fight will he finally dispel any possessions from his helmet and wear the stupid thing?
By Marscaleb Mon Oct 19th 2015 at 11:47 pm
That last panel is the best ever.

Love the quote in the last panel SO MUCH

So that is why he had a research department.
