Yes, that is loose skin. Pale, hairy, pasty loose skin.
Rough week. I didn’t vote for the guy who won, and I worry about what that means for a lot of innocent people. There was a big upturn in reported hate crimes the next day, and the scattered protests are putting even more people on edge.
I can understand that frustration – not the hate-driven frustration, that’s moronic – but right now, we have to calm down. We need to reflect on how this played out, and look at what it will take to make things better. The thing about most political parties is that they go right for the biggest prizes right away without looking at building up the base. That’s why there’s no viable third party in this country. If you want to start undoing what was done, start at the local level. Help build things in your own hometown. Start that grassroots movement. That’s how the other side operates with such efficiency, and won with virtually no ground game. It was already built in. We can do that.
We’ll see internal strife in both parties during the coming months, I’m sure. But remember, we live in a democracy. The vote happened, and it’s part of our social contract to accept the results. The upside is that we will have the opportunity to balance things out or swing things the other way in time. Be active in that. Don’t just lash out, because then you’re no better and no more productive than an angry mob.
Honestly, the best way to fight that anger is turn it to love. Screaming, chanting, and bullying others into silence is exactly what turned so many people away from progressive causes. Angry confrontation does not get the job done. Lead by example, extend a hand in friendship, even if you know it will be slapped away. It’s a harder road, one that will frustrate and make you question just what you’re doing, but it’s a road that leads to unity and success. Your party affiliation doesn’t matter. Just work against that anger and hate.
Eventually, the generally good people will look at you, look at the goodness you put out into the world, and will come around. I choose to believe that there can’t be that many people with so much hate in their hearts. There are good people on the other side, people that will look at the violent, hateful mob with disgust. If you reach out to them, show them friendship, they will stand with you against that hate. I’ve tried to live my own life in such a manner. I choose to believe in the inherent goodness of people. While this past week has given me doubts, made me question that belief, I refuse to give in to despair.
Tensions are very high right now. We need kindness and compassion more than ever if we’re going to make it. Don’t give up the good fight, but don’t let anger fuel you. This country was founded on a dream of unity, a dream that people from all walks of life could come together peacefully.
There’s no better dream worth fighting for.

I didn’t vote for Trump either, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be civil about all this. Sure. Its disappointing when the candidate you’re rooting for doesn’t win, but at the same time… I really don’t think Trump will be half as bad as people are making him out to be. Yeah hes not ideal, but he’ll only be 1/3rd of the government when he gets in, a third that can be overridden by the other two parts if he tries to pull crap that just isn’t right. That is the beauty of our political system, no single part has absolute authority.
And in any case, the future isn’t set in stone, nor will Trump be in the office forever. Just weather the next 4 years, and if Trump really is that bad, we can replace him with someone else. My hope is he’ll surprise us all and be a better man in the office then we expect, though to be fair I may be overly optimistic about that.
Again, no reason we can’t be civil and still work together regardless of the outcome, regardless of which candidate we supported.

I think it’s a shame that people just can’t accept that he won. #NotMyPresident? If you’re still going to call yourself an American, then he is. And what you’ve said is so true. This is it. This is what democracy looks like. When you lose the election you don’t flee and you don’t revolt. You prepare for the next one. I’m not psyched at the prospect of the Republicans controlling all three branches of government but hey, maybe now they’ll be willing to get something done for once. This has been disillusioning for me too but I have a lot of very smart friends who voted for Trump so how bad can he possibly be? (Don’t answer that) Ultimately, I don’t think much will change. I really, really hope not much will change. And at this point, hope is all we’ve got. Hope and faith in our fellow man. On another note, it’s looking like this saga will end with a newly thin henchman! Not sure this will actually make him more effective but hey. I guess we’all find out. (At least he isn’t running for president)

What those fools did was wrong, wrong, wrong! So when people do it today to Trump, so are they! BTW, those fools were way in the minority. I hope that’s the case with the fools today.

The good news is that thanks to Project VERITAS we know that some of those people where hired by the DNC to make the right look bad. Even better it turned out the people who put swastikas on a church with TRUMP along side it turned out to be jewish OY vey. TRUMP being friends with Israeli Prime minister Bibi Netanyahu, every gay jew I know fears Bibi more than moslem beheaders. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/11/fake-hate-jewish-students-painted-swastika-trump-campus-church/

Given that Trump outright stated and encouraged others not to accept anyone but him as president, I feel the “Not My President” campaign against him is completely justified.
I can’t participate because I live on the other side of the world. As in, another hemisphere, as I live in Australia.

I want to know why everyone wants to flee to Canada but no one wants to go to Mexico. Thanks to WikiLeaks at least we know what top DNC officials actually think about non-Cuban Hispanics.

Not that anybody will see this or care about this but I wanna retract my dumb, moderate, 2016 thoughts. “I respect some people who voted for him so maybe he won’t be that bad.” Embarrassing.

I posted this over on Least I Could Do ( http://www.leasticoulddo.com/ ) It is appropriate here after reading the statement and the comments. I really like your comic. I think I was in Afghanistan when I found it.
The line that got me was “There was a big upturn in reported hate crimes the next day, and the scattered protests are putting even more people on edge.” I take that to mean that of course it’s Trump’s white supporters. Which torqued me off. So maybe my perception of the rest of the comments is colored. I’m a news nut, kinda goes with the job. 143 daily news bookmarks. Many Attacks on Trump supporters, Many Police reporting fraudulent claims or no claim filed. CNN nothing. ABC, NBC, Huffpost, mother jones, NADA. CBS 1 story. Please watch these 2 videos then read my quoted comment.

In response to someone haranguing someone for being butthurt –
“Honestly, yeah.

Last 8 years while we were ordered to abandon people we made promises to, people who were counting on us,
while the state department fucked everything up they could,
while we dealt with the STUPIDEST ROEs EVER,
while the IRS and other Govt agencies were used to intimidate and coerce American citizens for political purposes,
while Govt money was funneled into political cronies pockets in the states, in the UN, and overseas,
while foreign money was funneled into the democrats pockets, lots of them not just the Clintons’ folks,
while our tech, uranium, and economy was given away for bundles of cash and to be friends with people who are like ‘big stupid kid is gonna let us have his car if we let him wave to us when we drive by,
while irrational bullshit and flat out lies were pushed in the media and by our leadership, and worse BELIEVED back in the states to the point where from over there it’s beginning to sound like China or Russia in the bad old days, North Korea any old day, or that section in the history books that shows Germany during the lead up to the worst war the human race has had yet, while the news from the states started sounding like someone had read 1984 and decide it was a how to manual,
none of which was the conservatives or average-every-day-Americas doing,
Me and my brothers and sisters present and past get called racists etc. so-on and Nazis, told we are this and that we believe this and that, blamed for every damn thing that these people while these people are actually doing those things, being racist, being homophobic, being corrupt, acting like frackin’ Nazis. “Blacks aren’t acting black enough”, Latinos are all for ILLEGAL immigration”, “white people are de debil” (waterboy reference shitbird not whatever)
1. Damn near everything is a bell curve and it’s complicated. The 2.3 percent on each end of the bell curve and ‘wet-ware incapable of process’ is usually where your problems kick in. You’re smart at ‘x’ things. There are ‘N’ you are at dog level intelligence about, usually through lack of information caused by lack of time to experience such so as to gain grok.
2. Little blue marble zipping through great big only-makes-sense-in-letters-and-squiggles-as-concepts-not-really-math-size space. ONLY place where we KNOW Life (big L) exists. Little blue marble catches a flyball. No more life. BOB burps, no more life. Little blue marble gets sick, NO MORE LIFE.
Luckily life has it’s own solution to safeguarding and, perhaps, spreading, intelligent adult life. Intelligent adult life sees potential problem and does what it needs to deal with problem. Intelligence that is denied knowledge cannot do it. Intelligence that decides ‘eh, it’ll be arite’ won’t do it. Intelligence that can’t handle complexity can’t do it. Intelligence that can’t (assess, plan, implement, assess, and again) can’t do it. Intelligence that can’t break itself from GIGO can’t do it. Intelligence that will not control its emotions won’t do it. Intelligence that cannot master ‘the button has to be pushed exactly when the button has to be pushed’ can’t do it.
Intelligence that doesn’t want to any of the aforementioned, won’t do it.
3. Nobody cares about your shit. Even your momma. Everybody has their own shit. Do your thing. For most people; you’re proud of it, cool, long as your not emo about it or trying to shove it down my throat, variety is the spice of life, hua. Everybody has a thing that is their thing. Everybody has a thing that they got a thing about. Get the fuck over it, shut the fuck up, and handle your shit. You can’t? If you are trying, people will try to help. If you ain’t no matter or if you are whining about it, especially if you are whining about it, they will not. You attack somebody for not helping you enough? You just became a problem that other people have to deal with. If you are a problem where you are or what you are doing you can find something else to do and/or somewhere else to be.
4. I’ve been telling kids for 29 years, you don’t gotta go back. I’ve helped people relocate themselves and their families into better lives x times. Fun fact: in the states, if you’re in a bad sich walk 50 miles down the road, find a church, ask for help and then LET THEM HELP YOU. Whole new sich. Shit job, shit hooch, + people who want you to succeed. Put in the work and build from there. I give you a 9/10 guarantee. On a side note, whatever gets you through. Some people find it better to just let GOD [big G] handle it. Let’em have it. Just let it go. It’s either ‘never thought about it’ social thing (baptist on sunday), hit ‘TOO MUCH’ too many times, or it’s just their thing. If it’s too much for you move on. All religions got weirdness, problems, and assholes including ‘ain’t no religion’ which makes them different than any other group of humans currently on the planet how? Some got more than others. All religions have good people wanting to help others and most religious folk are only religious about getting enough oxygen, water, and food.
5. Communism/feudalism/tribalism/socialism/collectivism/theocracy are all the same thing. Here’s your box. stay there or die, you are livestock. You may rise to be a farmer, you’ll still be a sheep. Where it works, to the level it works, it works for a couple of reasons: the flock kills the goat so we’re all sheep together keeping everybody same same and when there is plenty of grass we all eat, when there ain’t somebody is mutton. Direct democracy becomes chaos becomes on of them, big loop. Modified Democracy: constitutional republicanism, constitutional monarchy, etc., is an attempt to halt the loop. It ain’t perfect, it’s just the best we’ve figured out so far and probably will stay that way until the majority of humans become adults. We wrote the rules down. We can change the rules if we want. See, we wrote the rules about how to change the rules. Violence is not allowed. Everybody gets to run their mouth. Nobody has to listen. Use violence for either one, we use violence to stop the violence. Then it becomes who uses the most violence. No thank you we will keep the means to do violence. Because we don’t trust any of us because some of you are demonstrably crazy. Well, some of you think throwing a rock at me with your arm is different than throwing a smaller rock at me using an energetic exothermic chemical reaction. Crazy. You want to take away the my ability to do violence while you keep yours, like I can’t build one from stuff in your kitchen. Crazy. So everybody play nice and follow the rules we all wrote down and there won’t be no need. Not that I have any or have ever owned any or ever learned how to use any. Honest, I swear on a stack of bibles. Yes, Sir.
6. I’m tired of getting blamed for the problem by the people that caused the problem. Tired of getting accused by the person who did the thing they are accusing me of doing. REAL tired of people blowing off what they’ve done while trying roast me for what they did. That is getting real irritating. Blocking roads- “well they did in Selma.” First, that makes it right somehow? second that was the democrats you stupid…”We want to segregate.” Say what huh? “You hate gays. You want us all to die. Nazi. Stonewall!” First fuck you. Second, sexuality is hardly ever a problem. Persona often is, add yours to the rest bitch. See “controlling emotions”, “handling your own shit”, and above all “not fucking with other people” whether you point or set or catch or pitch. Most people don’t care. You sure do though. Last that was the goddamned democrats you fuck.
7. If race/sex/religion/job/whatever (eye roll) is all you got, cool. But if you’re being an emo bitch about it fuck off.
So, yeah. Getting a leeeetle bit butthurt over the last 8 years.”
By Zappit Sat Nov 12th 2016 at 7:13 pm
Honestly, I agree with you on a lot of things. There has been a dramatic upturn in violent confrontations all over. It’s stupid, far from productive, and it needs to stop. The problem in this whole giant mess is the extremists on both sides who want to force these confrontations. It’s like there’s not even a moral element anymore. They just want to be loud and right. It’s the rest of us that suffer for it.
We need to push those voiced out of the arena, and bring some sense back to the discussion. We can’t let that small, vocal element dictate the conversation, because they don’t seem interested in finding common ground. That’s what we need to focus on now, and we can do that by becoming more active in our own communities. That’s all I was trying to say.
Please keep in mind, though, that when I posted that blog post, some of those hate crimes had not been debunked. However, there are still those that were real. There have been real incidents on the streets and in places like schools. The “Trump Effect” education professionals have talked about is real. Kids going after other kids because they look different. I find that soul-crushingly sad.
By Otaku Mon Nov 14th 2016 at 3:48 pm
I am not so sure it is extremists on either side though; most of this seems far to main stream. What we have are two largely uninformed masses of the citizenry colliding… and those aren’t the extremes, they are the middle! Way too many people don’t truly know what it is they believe, or why they believe it. They just want what they want when they want it and are heedless of the consequences. The office of President has unfortunately become the stage for a political strongman, and we applaud while “our” guy is in office but cry out while the “other” guy wields the power… instead of realizing that in both cases that isn’t how the office is supposed to work according to our laws.

I’m just going to look at the comic page. That is what it is here for, and why I am here just now.
Hey, was that henchman so hairy BEFORE the serum? He seems to be turning into a disoriented spider with loose skin.

Well spoken, Zappit!
By Otaku Mon Nov 14th 2016 at 3:57 pm
Anyway, getting to why I came here (the comic) let me say that I appreciate remembering that our favorite (formerly) fat henchman may have lost the weight, but that his stretched out skin is still going to be there. It is that thing that I – as a morbidly obese man currently at just under 6 feet tall and 500lbs – try not to think about whenever I do rally and try to lose weight. Barring surgery, I’m going to look like a Skin cosplay that went horribly wrong.
…
Aw c’mon, you know Angelo Espinosa – Skin – of Marvel Comic’s Generation X?
…
Okay, so back on topic then. I cannot tell due to his stance, but if this guy has been overweight long enough (like myself), odds are he’d have some other physiological… shall we say distortions that become more obvious when he drops weight. I remember struggling to properly stand at attention in marching band, and it wasn’t until years later my doctor pointed out that obvious; due to having been morbidly obese most of my life, when I put my legs together, it actually forms a “Y” shape. My lower legs angle out to help support my weight/maintain my balance. Well, it might be that what misalignment would have been there anyway is more exaggerated than on a normal person due to my years of being so obese, but main point is, packing on the pounds affects you in so many weights. I won’t even delve into the stuff you normally hear about like how hard it is on one’s heart.

I have been reading this comic for a while. This has been a bad election, but both outsider candidates won the primaries. Bernie clearly would have won the democrat primary if someone would have checked the coin that was flipped 6 times that Clinton won all of to see if it was a 2 headed coin. Both DNC chiefs lost employment because of favoring Hillary over Bernie thanks to WikiLeaks. Thanks to WikiLeaks we know what the DNC elite actually think about gay marriage and non-Cuban Hispanics.
I voted for TRUMP because he was the only possibility for change & HilLIARy took $40 million from nations that execute gays. She also promised to import more moslems. In the UK gays marched alongside skinheads after a UK soldier was beheaded on the streets of London in broad daylight, if its not safe for soldiers its not safe for gays. Too many people on the left when advocating for moslem immigration think that cowardly moslems will fight well armed Christians instead of easy targets like PULSE’s gay bar bathroom. I was a medic in the military to pay for college & I have a realistic view about moslems.
If HilLIARy won we would be going to war with Russia to cover up the WikiLeaks still to come out & to help deal with the national debt.
Several of the Hate crimes have turned out to be hoaxes like the swastika on the church put up by 2 jews. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/11/fake-hate-jewish-students-painted-swastika-trump-campus-church/ . Honestly, if the RNC had been hacked, we would have seen just as much sludge from them. It seems impossible that party officials DIDN’T try in interfere to block Trump. Please consider that Trump is willing to do business with those same countries. Hell, one of his Middle Eastern properties in Dubai was contracted out to a firm using indentured servants, which is a fancy form of slavery.
As for The Gateway Pundit and Zero Hedge, which you repeatedly cite, both websites have a history of twisting the truth or outright lying. The Gateway Pundit embraced birtherism, invoked Godwin’s Law on Obama, environmentalists, and embraced open homophobia in the form of Jim Hoft. The fact that he eventually came out of the closet does nothing to change his behavior and the reality that that rhetoric was embraced by The Gateway Pundit.
As for Zero Hedge, they pander to conspiracy theorists and disturbingly pro-Russian to the point of propaganda. A former writer even stated on record he was ordered to talk up Russia, Putin, and put his own country down. We know Russia has mechanisms in place to interfere with the elections in other nations. There is plenty of evidence it happened in the Ukraine. Zero Hedge doesn’t pass the smell test.
Project VERITAS was discredited years ago. James O’Keefe selectively edits his undercover videos to misrepresent things said and done. His ACORN hit job was shown to be fraudulent, and he was forced to pay a $100,000 settlement. He also sets things up in a way to trap people. Read up on his Lucky Charms stunt. There’s a reason the Republican-controlled Congress froze funding for his nonprofit.
We really need to consider our sources. Information gets warped, twisted, misrepresented, or is simply forged. Just because we agree with that side does not make the source honest. I wouldn’t trust the vast majority of liberal blogs despite being a liberal myself. I certainly wouldn’t trust the conservative blogs, either. Bias has tainted journalism terribly in recent years.
But anyway, I don’t see the conversation really getting anywhere right now. There’s a new strip posted, so let’s go back to laughing. If there’s one thing that should unite us more than anything else, it’s over-the-top situation comedies.
By Borg Sun Sep 5th 2021 at 8:51 pm
The lack of viable third parties is not because people don’t know the right way to start a political party. The blame lies squarely on our outdated voting system. Simple plurality voting is horrifyingly vulnerable to irrelevant alternatives, so nearly everybody knows that if you don’t vote for one of the two major parties them you aren’t actually voting at all, and if nobody votes for a party then it can’t become a major party. We’ll never escape from the two-party system as long as it’s effectively codified in how we vote that nothing other than a two-party system can ever be stable.
By Alvar Fri Dec 31st 2021 at 4:48 pm
I´m can’t stop laughing and crying about all this political post from the past. What a pity that Trump was indeed horrible and his fall brought an assault on the White House plus a terrible pandemic response with waves of violence against the most vulnerable.
Being a terrible xenophobic person should be more controlled, because when they get in power they are the ones ignoring justice for their vile means. Lots of people voted for trump because they were just foolish, but shame for everyone who voted that monster, shame on you from the future you prepared, SHAME!!!!
