It’s a new week, so let’s introduce a new comic!
Dad Brigade: Brandy is a young girl being trained under the protection of a group of highly skilled mercenaries. Among these mercenaries are the assassin, Crucible Jack, the marksman, Jean d’Arblast, and the warlock, Hergin Pride. Dale O’Dawn, a noble knight, tries to keep them in order, to little avail. Together, the men must put aside their differences to raise Brandy into a warrior fit to stop the apocalypse.
I like this one. Go read it.

I was going to ask if anyone was not hearing Chris Latta’s Cobra Commander in their heads as they read The Supreme One’s lines, but apparently, yeah some aren’t. XP

That’s EXACTLY the voice I imagined.

Hey could still do cobra commander most the time, and pop out a lemongrab screech from time to time.

Never saw GI Joe so the voice I was imagining was Skeletor from “Masters of the Universe”. ^_^
BTW, did you notice Faustin’s total lack of enthusiasm in introducing “the supreme one”. I’d not be surprised if that, along with the fact that Faustin’s name is “*Faust* in”, pretty much defines the relationship between those two. ^_^;

Wait, which version of Skeletor? The original ’80s cartoon version was not dissimilar to the ’80s Cobra Commander. I get you won’t recognize the G.I. Joe references, but this storyline is definitely a G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero spoof. Probably with a few other toy-lines thrown in: for sure we had a Transformers reference, which is another of Hasbro’s. I bring this up because your comment reminded me; Faustin is probably a Destro stand-in, though I could be mistaken as he is missing the character’s most iconic trait (the full metal mask).

Definitely the 80s version since I haven’t yet seen anything of more recent vintage (I know they exist. I just haven’t seen them). I’ll take your word about Destro but the vibes I was starting to get from Faustin was that of a long-suffering henchman like Beastman even though I know that’s the wrong series to apply to this arc. (At least I’ve been able to resist thinking of Eva Lution in terms of Evil-Lyn. Progress?). If I had to venture a guess I’d say that Faustin’s role in the Future is that of Executive VP and middle management though I could be mistaken.

I think we are at the maximum “reply” indents, so I cannot directly respond to your most recent comment but… did you Google “Destro” yet? Real question; I’m not as familiar with some of these older series as I may sound (a lot is vague memories plus osmosis from being around more dedicated fans XP). Beastman and Destroy have some things in common, but I think Destro saw success (for a time) in leaving Cobra, and at least in the 90’s and oo’s would just keep being dragged back in by Cobra Commander leveraging his loved ones.

I did. The Wikipedia write up of him made him seem like an independent power in his own right including the line, “Destro will sometimes enter battle himself, either as a member of Cobra Command, or against them if it’s better for business”. It also made it sound as though the main reason he spent time with Cobra when he did was to spend time around an ex-girlfriend codenamed “The Baroness”.

Wiki sometimes gets it wrong though so I won’t swear to any of this.

I bet Cobra Commander forces his men to laugh at his jokes. That makes this legit.
