Aaaaand, suddenly, it gets heavy.
We’re getting down to the end of the month, and there’s only a few days left to submit an entry.
So how about a new Comic of the Week? This time we have Castoff, a fantasy comic about a kidnapping, bounty hunters, and a bigger conspiracy at hand. It’s got terrific art with great lineart and wonderful colors. Give it a look. You know where to click.

Good reason to have a small breakdown.

Looks like Meat or any of the other villians don’t make it either, not to mention any of the Heroes………
No small wonder she came back to try and swing the outcome in their favor

What about [the mom-lady with red hair whose name I’ve forgotten because I’m horrible at names]?! I feel like if Claw lost her, he’d take it really, really bad. Or did Claw keep her away from the war altogether?
Oh, right. Also, Meat, you okay buddy? I’m sure you went down in the manliest way possible, but I’m still concerned.

Hmm… re-reading the dialog it does seem like Kaley means everyone but the named. At first I misread it and thought it just a list of the close family or just the people she happened to name: am I the only one who has had the awkward family moment where you thought you named everyone but forgot, or didn’t name everyone because it was obvious and then the unnamed took offense? Well, even if I have that would have been possibilities if she wasn’t clarifying. I also had hoped we’d get a curve ball indicating that (no surprise) time travel tends to make things a bit wonky and this Kaley wasn’t necessarily the true future version of present Kaley. Yeah, yeah my imagination runs wild: I was all “Oh, maybe she didn’t refer to Diane because she’s from a timeline where Claw and Diane never got back together in the first place!” because I’ve watched way too much sci-fi, soap operas and sci-fi soap operas. XD

So only superpowered family members made it through. Go figure.
