I think by now it’s clear what I’m lampooning.
Now you know…

Preposterous, it’s obviously an homage to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe! Just look at those guns!

No way, this is Clearly MASK…or maybe Turbo Teen.

No need to lampshade it.

So all the comments about GI joe and looking like that one general… they where all true? Haha. Awesome.

Woefully ignorant as I am, I can’t see the lampooned subject here. Any other readers care to elaborate?

Altarisong, Colonel Muster, Heavy Duty, and Double-Down are all based on G.I. Joe, specifically characters from G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero (the cartoon series from the ’80s). Colonel Muster appears to be based on General Hawk. Double-Down is based on Snake-Eyes. Heavy Duty is based on… Heavy Duty? Maybe crossed with Gumbo? Help me out, Zappit… I kind of doubt you intentionally used an actual G.I. Joe: ARAH character name, especially with Colonel Muster and Double-Down looking so close to their counterparts. I think it was the third Snake-Eyes figure where he went with that outfit…

Heavy Duty is based on Roadblock.

Heavy Duty was also a Joe. He was a heavy weapons specialist and cousin of Roadblock.

Crud. I should’ve checked the wiki first.

Heavy Duty does look a lot like Mr. T who played B.A. on the “A Team” TV show so would this group be called “The B Team” or “The A+ Team”? ^_^
And I really like Anne’s expression in panel 4. I don’t blame her a bit! 🙂

So Double-Down is the deadliest ninja in Japan, huh. Two questions:
1) What clan is he from?
2) Does he claim to be the deadliest ninja in the world? Cause he’s not the first ninja to appear in this comic and they might have something to say about that.
Tue Apr 11th 2017 at 4:44 am
Well if he is such a good ninja, how do we know he is really mute and not just being quiet?

It’s one of the reason I’m asking if he claims to be the deadliest ninja in the world, a deadlier one from outside of Japan could’ve taken his voice
Tue Apr 18th 2017 at 2:41 am
Yeah, he’s not mute, he’s just all stealth all the time.
