They were disrupted by two things. First, Alien Genetics being different enough from humans to prevent our diseases from being able to transfer, just like how Humans can’t get sick with diseases that affect some animals and vice versa. Second, Alien’s having enough contact with other Alien Races to realise the amount of danger unknown diseases can pose, and making it so that they’re less likely to be affected by such things.

… Odd that she survived to adulthood if the resistance was that quickly defeated. Not sure how the timeline really lines up here.

It does. The aliens tried doing it likę in this timeline: via full scale invasion. It took years of fighting the human resistance before they said “eff this, we’re burning the planet”.

She said it was a new weapon system, implying that the war went on for a while with the resistance holding their own before it was deployed
It was AFTER this new weapon was used that the resistance lost within a week
