Looks to be an excellent example of something that isn´t actually a meme, but people think it is – simply by reading the text in that link. One if the main points of a meme is that you can´t create it, but it is a selfspreading reference with a possible evolution along the way. Even if you could make the argument for it being one the text alone makes it a weak one at most.

I’m ashamed of myself for not recognizing this one. Clearly I’ve fallen a bit behind.

Listening to the song again I get flashes from The Siege of Helm’s Klamm and the Battle of Minas Tirith. An army of cavalry coming down the mountain side and running over the enemy from east.

That music is astonishingly good. That’s a group with genuinely sensational talent. Thank you for sharing that one Zappit.

Apparently a hussar is a Hungarian light cavalry unit. I guess the imagination has to take it from there.

Winged hussars were a Polish heavy cavalry formation used from XVI to XVIII century.

Wait… If they didn’t need to wear their uniforms then why do they still wear the masks? (I mean, other than so we can recognize them as henchmen. :P)

@CTNC it’s in The Rules: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FacelessGoons
