Today’s the due date, folks! You’ve got until the end of the day to submit your concept sketches! Don’t be afraid to submit if you’re not an artist. I’ll reinterpret a stick figure, if need be. Click the vote button to the right of the comic to see the rules.
I keep seeing readers saying the same thing. “I’m not going to try because I can’t draw.” They waver. They don’t think they’re good enough to even try. I would like to say something to those self-conscious readers. Every journey starts with the first step. Every skill develops after the first attempt. Every song begins with the first note. You might trip. You might fall flat on your face, but one thing is for sure – you won’t get better at something if you don’t try. Don’t have that fear. Don’t discount your own ability, or what it could be. All you have to do is give yourself permission to try.

Now that is a pep talk. Can I use that? *-*

Happy to say I’ve submitted my design, may the best Fan Concept win! 🙂 🙂 🙂
But Just informing you Zappit that I forgot to include my versions of Big Bear B’s height, which is 197cm without the hat, 200cm with it on. And just to cover all bases (no matter how implausible), yes, he has ears they’re just hidden under his hat’s flaps

Whoops, this is embarrassing, it’s actually 202cm with the hat on. MY Bad!

Heh. In a universe like this one I’ll give the gentleman credit for serious bravery in arguing like that with any costumed character at all. No discredit to him for backing off in panel 4 either because I would already have folded by the end of panel 2. ^_^

“Remember: sucking at something is the very first step toward being kinda good at something!”

Btw, I didn’t see any instructions/info when I voted.

if i was a super villain with high tech, i would have 4 settings on targeting lasers.
first would be invisible to normal vision but visible in scope, for those times you want to do stealth targeting.
second would be visible for when you want to have them notice.
third would burn just enough to sting skin and make cloth smoke, just to freak them out.
last would be ray to change colors in whatever it hit, so you can write message on target or make bullseye or just embarrass the target (imagine using it on archenemy during his lecture or as he flying past and turning costume pink with a tie-dye bullseye on it and giving him rainbow colored hair or just giving him heart shaped tattoos on his cheeks or clown makeup).
then you would also have whatever lethal options the gun it self has.

As one of those choosing not to participate because I have no skill at drawing… I mean, thanks for the pep talk, but it’s not really a matter of I don’t think I could draw as I have not nor do I intend to spend time developing that skill. It’s just not for me, I’m a code monkey not an artist and I like it that way.
Since you’re down with stick figures I might submit something later, though, in stick figure form.
