I’ll be updating the vote art later this week. I found some of my old old work, and it happened to include the character that would eventually become Kaley. You will get to see that, so keep checking in!

That last line made me think that Zappit had forgotten about this page; http://supervillainous.spiderforest.com/comic/ride-em-clawboy/
But then I realised that Claw probably just wanted to ride Power-Thrust in that way & correcting him would end that opportunity

I should imagine there is a whole fan fiction sub section devoted to “Claw riding Power Thrust” if I have learned anything about the internet.

Touching the armbands* might still result in being decoratively electrocuted

Anyone any idea how far back they travelled? Nevermind, I asked Google. And the internet says this is a yeoman.
Why I ask? Well, I thought our Supervillains would normally have a hard time understanding Mr Yeoman there, but Wikipedia tells me that Modern English was spoken since the late 16th century (that’s 1550+) – give or take – and thus Mr Yeoman might be quite understandable for today’s people.

For a given value of “modern”. Any textbook with plays or poems by Shakespeare (1564-1616) typically features lots of notes regarding the language. The basic language is pretty close, but lots of idioms and usages have shifted, and I have no idea how much pronunciation may have shifted. Communication is probably possible, but it would definitely be tricky, with plenty of room for misunderstanding.

Actually the Yeoman of the Guard are still active today and have been the official bodyguards of the British monarchy since 1485. They could just simply be in Britain at any time period from 1485 to present, which also adds to the question as to if they travelled in time, why are they now on British soil if they were in America previously (This also bugs the hell out of me when time travel is done in films and they start in one country and then wind up usually in “King Arthurs Court” with 15th Century weapons and armour as opposed to something from around the 5th Century!). Additionally they may not even be in Britain as we know it as the crest is slightly different, should be a Rose in the middle of the yeoman’s tunic and not a star, so may even be alternative past/future/mirror world etc.

They traveled in time and relative dimensions in space, off cause.

So when our Resident Ray Bradbury fan zapped the yeoman, was there A Sound of Thunder?
By Wizard Mon Jul 30th 2018 at 1:27 pm
Depends on how time travel works in your universe, Claw. If your past can be changed, then your mere presence has already introduced completely unpredictable changes. Let’s hope your world runs on fixed past or many-worlds rules. Or BttF rules, which aren’t terribly logical but do make for great hijinks.

Or it will not change at all because the tings the do in the past where the things they did in the past and have to do in the past to create the future they are from. Causality loop for the win!

Narrative-compatible multiverses should converge to narrative destinies*. Minor changes will be washed out, medium changes will make the narratives shift or other people take the destiny.
* unless the narrative says otherwise

So, this is basically everything I asked for. Thank you. We get to find out more about Claw’s belt, we get to see Claw kick some butt (if only a little) and yes, those metal armbands DID look cool as hell.

I thoroughly enjoyed the recent vote bait. It took me back several decades to an interminable chain-punning debacle…
