Heh. Looks like Claw’s minions need to review rule #5 of Niven’s Laws For Writers. ^_^

A supervillain with infinite wealth and no ambition to take over the world does get boring after a while
By Random Guy Mon Feb 13th 2017 at 3:03 am
Well he just needs to steal back a whole lot of gold, all at once.

Or open up economic trade with another group/society which has a need for large amounts of gold thereby restoring the value of gold.
That or invent a new piece of tech for commercial use, which requires large amounts of gold and use the gold that way.

Alternatively, if he’s more patient then the average supervillain is likely to be then he might just wait until the current stock of gold is depleted…
“A small amount of gold is used in almost every sophisticated electronic device. This includes cell phones, calculators, personal digital assistants, global positioning system (GPS) units, and other small electronic devices. Most large electronic appliances such as television sets also contain gold.
One challenge with the use of gold in very small quantities in very small devices is loss of the metal from society. Nearly one billion cell phones are produced each year, and most of them contain about fifty cents worth of gold. Their average lifetime is under two years, and very few are currently recycled. Although the amount of gold is small in each device, their enormous numbers translate into a lot of unrecycled gold.”

On the plus side, if this article is correct then Claw has probably sparked a renaissance in electronics, medicine and aerospace technology by flooding the market with gold and making it as cheap as he did. The fact that he still has a full hanger of it yet is pretty nice too. ^_^

he really should have been rewarded for his services to mankind for devaluing gold to such a degree…
Now, do the same for platinum.
you could destroy a decent sized country after that and still come out as a net good for mankind

The robots weren’t interesting? But I really wanted to know how they were so knowldegeable about ducks without use of the Internet! Don’t leave me with a cliffhanger!

Obviously they were given basic knowledge of the world. It would be torture to have to deal with “What is that?” questions

Ha! Nice Simpsons reference!

That joke just feels more relevant than ever nowadays.
By Inbetweenaction Mon Feb 13th 2017 at 12:58 pm
still, even after such a great service to humanity, the act of flooding the market should still have left im with a shitton of money.

I was wondering when this would catch up to him….

“Fix the machine so we can start stealing silver!”

“Well, we still have a hanger full of gold.”
It would seem that the intended storage place for a huge mass of gold would be a hangar (site to store and maintain aircraft) as opposed to a hanger (device or attachment used to hang things for storage). Not that it would be past a genius like the Claw to devise a hanging storage system for gold bars…
By Inbetweenaction Thu Feb 16th 2017 at 3:26 pm
It’s not that hard. only thing you need is really sturdy hangers, and an extremely sturdy rack or rail to hang the hangers on. gold is really heavy, and that is the only problem with it.

“The Prez”, would that be Drumpf, or Lobo? Or is this the abovementioned Simposon reference?
