Yeah, I pulled a muscle in my neck. I’ve felt a lot of pain in the neck and left shoulder blade area for the last couple days, and it made it fairly difficult to do a number of tasks, including bending my head down to work on my art. It’s a trouble spot that acts up once and awhile. I’m usually able to work through it, but this pull was a tad more unpleasant than previous times. It’s Sunday night, and I am feeling a bit better. I should be back in action pretty soon. See you then!

I’ve had the same, too often. You might try eating more greens or taking magnesium supplements. Worked for me, mostly.
Good luck and get well.We are thinking of you.

I’m happy to say that’s it is almost always my calf. Neck sounds like a pain the, well, neck. Hope you heal swiftly.

Did that once in college. Trying to sleep at night after was The Worst. Thankfully they do heal. Don’t stress it.

Actually messed up my knee a few weeks ago, and I keep aggravating the injury before it fully heals. I’m also prone to hurting my back if I’m not careful, and that can sideline me for days, keeping me from even sitting at a desk to work on a computer. Not trying to compete for sympathy, but express that I’ve got at least a small idea of what you’re going through. Get well soon, even if that means skipping a few strips! 😀

I used to have that problem. Then I started taking trace mineral pills and it stopped. No more petty injuries. I suggest Life Extension “Trace only” trace mineral pills.

Gentle Acupressure has always helped me the MOST when I injure myself. Just some gentle holds on certain areas can greatly relax and heal the muscles and ligaments. Arnica also works really well for increasing the rate of the healing process. You can get it in creams. I personally like Arnicare cream from Boiron brand. I put an inch-long squeeze of it in a 2oz spray bottle with water and it dissolves quickly. Makes it easier to apply. Don’t use with ice, though, it cancels out the arnica.

No need to apologize for such things. Explanations are always nice, though. Take care of yourself; the comic and most of us aren’t going anywhere.

No worries. Hope you heal fast. (I use Tiger Balm for muscle pulls, if you want to give it a try.)

I’ve been there, that’s never fun. Here’s wishing you a speedy recovery, but don’t push yourself too fast.

Take care of your body; you’re going to need it later.

I find a six-pack and a self-indulgent day unashamedly doing nothing but watching TV helps! Fell better soon!

If it is recurrent, you want to have someone check your diaphragm (yes!). In my case, I was accumulating tension in that area of my body when under stress and, to balance it out, I would contract my neck and shoulder muscles to balance my posture. At this point, all it took was a little something (air conditioning, for instance) and I would lock in position for a few days. Having the part massaged by a pro helped, but it wasn’t before a (good) chiropractor figured things out for me that I realized of this problem.
Becoming aware of it and checking my breathing-diaphragm periodically for tension made it for me: I am not suddenly stiff-neck free, but sure it happens every few years as opposed to every few months like it did before!

Ouch that sucks brother. Take your time and heal up, we’ll still be here when you get back.

I hate that. Had it a handful of times myself.
I also hate that I’m only 38 and apparently am more likely to injure myself sleeping than in any appropriately manly physical activity, like wrestling a bear.
