Are clones popular again did Scarlet Spider win people back
By Ladon Fri Aug 5th 2016 at 3:44 pm
Scarlet Spider won my heart from the beginning. But Ben Reily. Not Kaine. Kaine was cooler as an assassin.

What about that miniseries were they teamed up

The Black Market huh? GooFather will be alot of help there.
Two questions for you Zappit.
1) Have you considered getting a Tv Tropes page to help promote this webcomic?
2) Are you going to update your vote incentive soon?
By Zappit Thu Aug 4th 2016 at 11:09 pm
1) Honestly, I never considered TV Tropes. I ‘m not familiar with it. If someone else started a page, I’d be fine with it. I just don’t really have the time to maintain one.
2) I’m actually trying to put something together for the vote incentives. It would be a very different approach, and I’ll probably be advertising for that soon.

I’ll take a crack at it later. Right now I need to sleep in preparation for some Warhammer in the morning.
By richc Sun Aug 7th 2016 at 5:13 am
I have never edited tvtropes before. How do I set up an account so I can submit additions?
I wanted to add a link to http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong, and http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ItRunsInTheFamily.

I have decided that the most likely culprit (of the people we;’ve met) for cloning Captain Ultimo is…
…The Actioneer.
He fits perfectly! And he knows all about what people would expect of someone capable of making perfect clones of people, and not act that way.
Also, having backup clones of himself (that possibly take it in turns being the hero figure, live as his civilian identity, etc.) explains why nobody’s managed to kill him for being annoying. Everything fits!
..OK, that’s my wild comment of the day.
By Darius Drake Sat Aug 6th 2016 at 3:16 am
Actually, I already know who’s going to be first on Actioneer’s list of people who’s suspected of cloning Captain Ultimo. It’s Crimson Claw who got the cloning tech to make Joey. Turns out the tech needed to make a Perfect Clone of a Super like Ultimo and the tech needed to try to make a Super Soldier from Scratch who can fight against Ultimo is neigh identical.
Please note, this IS a guess, but it makes perfect sense to me, so I’m running with it.
By Gianluca Burdon Sat Aug 6th 2016 at 3:46 am
To obvious. I’m betting it’s U.S. Government trying to have their own personal army of supers. they tried a similar thing before in this story
By Justonalark Sat Aug 6th 2016 at 4:22 am
The REAL question is why whoever did this apparently just set the clone loose to act like Ultimo. They didn’t try to capture, kill, or discredit the original so far as I can tell. So did our culprit somehow know that Ultimo’s reaction would be to hide and wait things out? Were they expecting some kind of dramatic “I don’t know who to shoot”-style confrontation? Was this all some kind of experimental test run?
Or maybe the Ultimo clone wasn’t supposed to act the way he did. Maybe he somehow escaped from the lab before he could be programmed, assumed that he was the real Ultimo, and decided that the whole thing had been a bad dream, or that he’d been captured and escaped, and would find the fiend responsible after dealing with the invasion. Maybe whoever created the clone never even knew that their creation had replaced the real one.
Whatever the case, one thing is certain: I was NOT expecting this rabbit hole to go deeper than a one-off joke about Superhero “death,” and I am ridiculously eager to find out how deep it DOES go.
By Towering Barbarian Sat Aug 6th 2016 at 5:09 am
*nods in agreement*
It’s possible that whoever did this meant to benefit Ultimo in some way. Or perhaps this was a dry run and a “proof of concept” experiment. The fact that whoever did it need not be a native to our planet or time period is also a possibility, but in Actioneer’s place I would probably hold off until last before considering those angles. Incidentally, I probably expect our Google-based heroine to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting if she’s got any useful research skills or discretion at all. Open source intelligence gathering is the sort of thing that can reveal much that was thought secret. ^_~

Captain Ultimo was real. The guy that looks like him and says that was a clone is the real clone. That is why he never found the cloners that made that copy. It wasn’t one. And why the costumed one never seemed out of character.
By Darius Drake Sun Aug 7th 2016 at 4:02 am
Nah, the dead one’s the clone. That’s why he was reckless enough to punch an Intergalactic Emperor who rules with an iron fist in the face without worrying about the consequences. Repelling the Emperor’s Army is one thing. Opposing the Emperor by destroying his army is another. Punching him in the face when you haven’t completed doing either of those things is stupid.

The movie version of Supervillianous comes out tonight. I think they’re calling it Suicide Squad.
By Jiala Fri Aug 5th 2016 at 5:40 pm
Lets not insult Supervillianous like that, the writing here is far superior…
By Anarchyant Fri Aug 5th 2016 at 7:16 pm
Exactly, plus more believable characters. Besides if it had to be anyone it definitely would be done by House of Mouse/Marvel.
By Siva Smith Sat Aug 6th 2016 at 10:10 pm
If there were a ‘like comment’ button, I’d have pressed it for Jiala’s.

Woah, did none of us see the “you? fess up!” In suspect suggestions? Its those little details that make this comic so great and archive delving so worthwhile.

Credit where credit’s due: as twits go, Actioneer seems to be an extremely competent.
By Hinoron Tue Oct 22nd 2019 at 11:13 pm
Why is Actioneer in fact surprisingly competent?
Because that annoys all the people he pisses off even more, obviously! 😀
