Switcheroo

I’ve been advertising the fan script contest for a couple weeks now, and I’ve been getting this a lot:

I’d like to, but I don’t think I’m a good enough writer.

Frankly, that’s not a good excuse. If you want to do it, then just try it. Literally, the worst thing that could happen is that I don’t pick it this time. The best case scenario in my mind is that I get so many great ideas that I go for two weeks of fan scripts.

The point is, you don’t get better at something unless you do it much more often, writing especially. You might not like your ideas, but somebody else might enjoy them, and think they’re hilarious. If you don’t try, you’ll never know. I’m trusting my fanbase with my comic, and I’m asking you guys to trust me, too. As an artist, I want to give your writing life and “pop”. I can make it work visually.

So try. Be bold enough to at least try. Don’t let your doubts hang over your head, and don’t walk away saying, “I wish I did that.” This event is going to be for the readers, so join in the fun and send a henchmen script to zappit1234 AT gmail DOT com. You got one week left, so send ’em in!
