So Claw’s just making a deal instead of doing some Grand Theft Scheme… Smart!
By Devlerbat Fri Aug 4th 2017 at 6:50 am
The deal is sort of a scheme since Claw has no intention of not letting Kaley attend this school.
By Gianluca Burdon Fri Aug 4th 2017 at 11:36 am
He is letting her attend that school, he just doesn’t like it
By Gianluca Burdon Fri Aug 4th 2017 at 11:38 am
Plus it’s not a theft scheme. (Ignore earlier comment, misread your post)

Claw got where he is by being the smart one. 🙂

OK, I’ll bite. Why wouldn’t Claw like it that the students get royalties? That’s actually better then what some corporate and government inventors get in real life. @_@
By Tigershark06 Fri Aug 4th 2017 at 6:07 am
Royalties are often PALTRY compared to what comes of the inventions in question. Cents on the dollar sort of Paltry… so I can see where Claw is coming from.
By Gianluca Burdon Fri Aug 4th 2017 at 11:35 am
He faking it to get the parts, DUH! He DOES need a believable excuse after all
By Lawrence “Eoraptor” Hults II Sat Aug 5th 2017 at 2:29 am
Royalties and Income are totally different… starving artists get royalties on a song they wrote twenty years ago… CEOs get income off that song for the next 95+ years
By BaufenBeast Sat Oct 26th 2019 at 5:23 am
I’m assuming the deal is pretty good for the students. Dynamo’s a hero for one, so he won’t rip his students off (or can’t out of risking his public image), and people wouldn’t be clamoring to get into the school if it weren’t so good for them.
I assume Claw just doesn’t like heroes benefiting from his family’s work, and also doesn’t like the idea of his daughter not having the rights to things she creates. It’s also a convenient excuse, but I don’t think that’s why he said it.
By Inbetweenaction Fri Aug 4th 2017 at 2:26 pm
he does need them for a redundancy system. only, he skips out the part where it is used to build the system to pay for the redundancy systems
By Ladon Fri Aug 4th 2017 at 3:07 pm
Ok, I was expecting theft but this is some REALLY SHREWD lying. Way more impressive than a heist. And it’s totally believable. These engines are alien technology. Dynamo doesn’t know what they need to keep them running. Hell, what kind of fuel do they use?

I wouldn’t be surprised if CC lets his daughter attend. After all with this lie in play he can have kaley steal some good patents. Besides, if the universe duplication device breaks again he just has to hover above the school and say “Catastrophic engine failure in 10 hours give me some parts!”.
By Otaku Mon Aug 7th 2017 at 1:46 am
If Claw is rebuilding the duplication device, allowing Kaley to attend is likely even more shrewd. Why? Well, the device only opens a small window, but Claw could volunteer to hold a science fair on board the ship now that he’s “reformed”, and steal from the alternate realities leaving all the originals alone. Then he just needs his tech henchmen to innovate enough to get a different patent or any number of other schemes. 😉

Actually, if he’s smart about it, he SHOULD pad the list with parts to help make redundant flight systems. That way, he helps keep the family home airborne, AND hero-boy has to pay for it. Win-win!

Intimidate him with your sound reasoning, Claw!
By Poetically Psychotic Fri Jan 19th 2018 at 12:41 pm
Well played. This is why CC is a big name in the parahuman community. His powers are strong, but is brain is much stronger.

I am curious how much the royalties are. And if any of the students get enough to be set for life by the time they graduate.
