And we’re back! Sorry about the missed update. I had a little family emergency. Everything’s fine, and things should be back to normal.

Now I’m morbidly curious as to whether this is more painful or less painful then being shipped off to Doc Savage’s private hospital in upstate New York in order to be cured of one’s criminal tendencies by surgery. @_@

Man, I’d really been hoping that Habanero Devil’s ability to LITERALLY CONTROL FIRE would be instrumental in taking down the guy whose chief tactic is SHOOTING FIRE AT THINGS. Guess I was wrong. Either that or he’s been busy off panel helping the firefighters get the burning buildings under control. Or maybe the Supervillainous version can only control the fire he creates, in which case I guess he’d be a little less helpful in this fight. ;-_-
Also, that last panel is one of the funniest I’ve seen in a while.

I can understand your frustration. But considering that Firebug wore a completely flame-proof suit, I don’t think he could have been stiopped with fire.

Fair point.
I had been thinking more defensively: redirecting Firebug’s blasts so the rest of the team could take him down. But, like I said before, it’s possible that Habanero can only control his own fire, and wouldn’t have been able to help out like that. And honestly, I suppose that powerset would make a little more sense considering that his powers are the result of superscience chemistry rather than some inherent pyrokinetic talent or some magical command over the element of flame. I originally made him for City of Heroes, so he couldn’t control other people’s fire back then anyway.
TLDR: I’m perfectly willing to accept that the Habanero Devil wasn’t much use in this fight. I’m still just hoping to get to see him, if only as the punchline of a joke about fighting fire with fire.

“Moooooooom! Can’t you see I’m purifying souls!?” “No that’s not slang for doing drugs!” “No, Vengence isn’t ‘just a phase’ this is my LIFE now, Mom.”

I am not sure which would be more evil:
letting a villain go unreformed after having an explosive battle (Prison doesn’t reform super villains nor regular criminals)
or
stealing the same villain’s capability to choose evil by usage of soul magic
Probably the second, good job Actioneer, seriously good job.
Didn’t really think you had competent hero/leadership traits in you, more sidekick ones.

I’m pretty sure that prison does reform some criminals. It’s just that the rate of reformed prisonners is horrendously low compared to the rate of recidivists or people who get into worse crimes after prison thanks to the myth that you need to join a gang to survive (yes a gang will protect you, the gang will also want you to participate…. Guess what’s the first cause of mortality in prison? Gang on gang violence.)

Beat up a baddie, weed out the non-heroes, scared a nun, and on top of that saved a soul. A good first run indeed.
