So… not “creates parallel timeline” approach? >.>
By Analt Wed Jun 29th 2016 at 8:29 pm
I believe the term is ‘Time-y Wime-y ball’
By Anarchyant Thu Jun 30th 2016 at 5:07 pm
of wibbly wobbly…………stuff. Hmm that got away from you a bit there, yes it did.
By Marscaleb Wed Jun 29th 2016 at 8:48 pm
That’s a good thing, because the “create parallel timeline” idea IS UTTER BULLCRAP AND SHOULD NEVER BE USED EVER.

There are the time travel stories where everything is ultimately fixed and you can’t actually change the past/future/whatever. If you try it all ends up working out the same way.
There are the stories where if you change history, you really don’t. This either creates an alternate timeline or shifts you to one. Very similar to the previous one except with less of a sense of agency.
There are the stories where you can sort of change things. You don’t so much change history as creatively fulfill it by working with the unknown aspects to ensure what you do know happens a certain way.
There are stories where you can change history and it changes the present/future.
If I was going to call any of them “utter bullcrap” and state that they ought not to be used, it would be that last one. It kind of makes existence pointless since sooner or later, someone will time travel and change history enough to change everything that has happened. Oops! Still even it can be used to tell an entertaining story, so I won’t call any of them bullcrap. 😉

…and of course I went to shift some points around because they made sense closer together but botch my attempt since more than one are “You can sort of but not really change things.”
So
“There are the stories where you can sort of change things. You don’t so much change history as creatively fulfill it by working with the unknown aspects to ensure what you do know happens a certain way.”
is like
“There are the time travel stories where everything is ultimately fixed and you can’t actually change the past/future/whatever. If you try it all ends up working out the same way.”
but with a greater sense of agency.

Oh, boy,,,. If this gets on the news, Claw will be the beloved hero whose family saves the world!
By Rycan Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 6:17 am
Claw might have to murder the news team now, just to prevent that.
By Towering Barbarian Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 4:08 am
Darn. ~_~
By Tigershark06 Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 7:56 am
Oh… shit….
That’s pretty heavy stuff for this comic… but I have to say I did wonder how she played into it if she didn’t want the future she lives in. She’s a strong will if she is willing to make that sacrifice.
I will say also I’m glad that her “Betrayal” wasn’t. I didn’t want her to be the “bad guy” in this situation.
By disaster Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 8:43 am
damn that hurt more than i thought it would
By Wickedragon Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 10:18 am
Tears in my eyes. I did not expect that.
By Kaian Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 12:04 pm
Not only did not see that coming. I weep in empathy for Claw and any parent that has outlived their child.
By Anarchyant Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 12:58 pm
And this is where time travel really screws up your head.
Technically he hasn’t lost Kaley simply because his “real” one is still there. The one who sacrificed herself was a “may have been” glimpse into the possible future. Yes it still hurts because unlike other villains he is first and foremost a family man. After all this though I can bet the press will paint him more as an Anti-hero rather than Villain. Of course now this has happened, I really cant wait to see what an enraged Claw does to the Emperor.

There ARE worse things than death. I get the feeling the “living god” is going to wish Claw had let AV kill him
By Ragnarok101 Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 12:38 pm
Don’t mind me, just something in my eye….
By Ro'Wan Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 3:31 pm
Sharess Damn it……………
As a father’s who’s lost children myself, I know the feeling
You’ve still got “your” Kaley Claw, cherish her, remember the sacrifice that was made
By Wickedragon Tue Jun 28th 2016 at 10:04 am
I’m sorry for your loss, and wish I could help you.
I hope you can find joy in the every day and have people to share good things with, as well as the bad. And wish I could do more for you than hope for the best :/
By Rhys Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 6:32 pm
Damn, that just got poignant.
By Rhys Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 6:34 pm
And seriously, Kaley did awesome keeping that from the readers, too. Shocking but not cheap.
By Meem Mon Jun 27th 2016 at 7:09 pm
You know you’ve created a great work when people are so invested in the characters that it hurts when they hurt. Bravo, sir.
By zot Tue Jun 28th 2016 at 4:11 am
It wasn’t Claw or Kaley or even the Emperor that started this. It was the Heroes. I can’t see Claw being terribly happy with them.
By Anarchyant Tue Jun 28th 2016 at 7:47 pm
See this is what majorly bugs me with some of the super set. They believe they have the right to invade other places to enact regime changes as they believe its for the greater good. Then either clear off and leave the locals to either fight among themselves for power and be worse than the last one, or leave them in ruins while they go back to their other conquests or imposing their will on others, or even worse. THIS happens, and they expect others to clean up the mess for their mistakes. Yet after all this you can bet your bottom dollar they will still treat those Villains as scum. But as per usual the press will likely be whitewashed. I am sure the world would love to know it was because of Ultimo and his cronies that brought down this death and devastation to earth.

Well, I double called it. Not that happy to be right this time though….
