Now we’ll find out why it’s NOT gonna solve the world’s energy needs or avert climate change. XD
Not just because it might make writing the story more complicated. Since it’s similar to the real world, but with superpowers and a stronger sense of humor.
There’s also real life. Skip the rest if you don’t want exposure to my worldview. I don’t plan on getting overly specific, but since the comics addressing a solution to a real world issue, it means many of the factors involved in that issue are likely to be story relevant. I completely understand those who don’t wanna hear (read) it. Oh, and I might be totally wrong on any of this. XP
Other energy businesses have a reason to sabotage this project. So do many “environmental” groups, because BOTH profit off the status quo. I’m not saying every energy business or every environmental group would try. It’s also NOT just the people at the top; everyone throughout these organizations may be out of a job, whether they’re unskilled labor or specialists that paid heavily to learn their career.
It may also threaten the political power of various governments. Whether externally, because the energy industry is a major part of their own power/influence, or internally… because tyrannical governments will use anything and everything to maintain control of their own people.
There’s also just people in general. We can be rather foolish. Whether it’s simple ignorance or just being gullible and prone to panic.
Lastly, there’s a real chance that there ARE drawbacks to these things. Out understanding of climate change has changed a LOT over the decades I’ve been alive. Which is why terms for it have changed as well. I’ve been alive over four decades; I’ve seen a LOT of predictions prove false. Sometimes a little, sometimes by so much it’s hard to convince younger people that they were real concerns and not just from the fringe. XP
Which is relevant because sometimes the experts get things wrong. There could be a drawback to these that will be revealed later. I mean, time travel going wrong is the plot of how many stories? XD

For what it is worth I think your points are legitimate concerns. As you said this is not the place to truely discuess this.

Aye. I know it doesn’t mean much to say after the fact, but I really b probably just could have said something like “I wonder if they’ll discover a drawback, since time travel going wrong is a trope?” and basically saved us all from potential headaches. XP

I also can’t seem to avoid making embarrassing typos. I know my first post had “out” instead of “our”, besides atrocious formatting. The previous one has a random bold-text “b” because I think it was trying to stress “really”. >_<
