Lotta people mad at Defender X. You really think Claw and Co. would be the only force out to take him down?

So… anyone else having visions of the Shadow Beasts from Hunter X Hunter?
I wonder if this group like them is culled from multiple families in the mafia and if they will be as… successful as the Shadow Beasts were in their big fight scene.
Oh and if you have no clue what I’m talking about, unless you can’t stand animé or manga, the Hunter X Hunter series is a great ride though it isn’t for those that can’t handle a series with violence and character deaths that actually stick. Or that want a complete story; the creator has been on hiatus for most of the last several years. >.> Still there is an English version of the manga available for sail and the 2011 version of the animé (covers nearly all the manga and has no non-canon “filler” episodes) is available on Netflix as well as Crunchyroll, though it never got an English dub.
As you may have gathered I do recommend it and while it has a much darker and more serious tone than Supervillanous, it just hit me that they do cover some of the same ground.

OK, as a matter of curiosity, where would it rank on the “Blade of the Immortal” or “Crying Freeman” scale of death and darkness? o_O

Dunno where it would rank on that scale… but it’s somewhere a bit past the Manga version of One Piece if I remember right.

I… haven’t seen either of those.
The main reason I suggest caution is that in the beginning (basically the first couple of episodes), Hunter X Hunter can easily be mistaken as your typical lighthearted action/adventure series. When Viz brought the manga over, they aimed it at older teens/young adults but I seem to recall a few volumes being censored (possibly because whatever they originally were marketing it as, they eventually had to bump it up to the next level).
Things to understand are that when a character dies, usually it is for keeps. Death is no stranger to the series but again, the first few chapters might fool you into thinking otherwise. Sometimes the deaths can get pretty graphic but most aren’t going to hit Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure level. At least that is to the best of my recollection; I haven’t taken time to re-watch the series since it finished.

1) Hammerhands reminds me of Hammerhead from spiderman
2) Hamerhands also looks like Meat… Or is that just me

I kinda thought the same and the similarity between Manheim and Mayhem made me wonder if there was a link… might be reading too much into it.

Way to whack that armored guy. Manheim knows how to put a hit on a guy.
Though guess it makes sense for the mob to have supers in a world full of them.
