I am much, much better. About a week ago, I couldn’t even move my head down to look at my tablet. I took it easy, let myself heal, and it’s only a minor discomfort. If history is any indication, that should clear up soon in a few days. Thanks for being patient and for all the get-well-soon messages. You guys are awesome. You really are.

Heh. Miss Claw is right, Actioneer! Do you really think Vision, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch would have become Avengers if the Avengers had ever paid attention to little details like that? ^_~
The real problem is assuming that the other side might not just go ahead and rehire them by offering them more money as well. Can we say “bidding war”? I don’t think those two would be that dishonorable but sooner or later someone who is bought out like that probably will be. ^_^

Are there any hero teams that *don’t* have a villain or two working for them at least part time? And every supers RPG campaign I’ve played has had at least one sort-of-reformed villain on the team…

A legit point. Though I would also think that a super-merc who deliberately sparked bidding wars and repeatedly switched sides would soon find that rep preceding them.

This update was definitely worth the wait. Loving this dialogue. All of it.

Actioneer seems to have forgotten he’s working for a reformed villain, or at least the daughter of a retired, semi-reformed villain who traveled back in time yada yada yada. Now, the question is did (new) Claw remember to negotiate something that will ensure no one else hires him away mid-mission?

So glad you’re recovered after wisely taking time to do so! Just love the synergy between Claw Jr. and the Actioneer: he’s a good lieutenant to speak his doubts openly and clearly.

well, with a little training, our backwoods cyborg could have just the kind of brain/brawn combo that a great upper-tier henchman needs! And he’s got a girlfriend who can at least shoot a laser cannon semi-decently. I say exchange training for loyalty and this deal could work
