I wonder how many experiments, mutations, and exposure to radiation/chemicals/magics might have hit this henchman?
You know the old saying: what doesn’t kill you (outright) probably just hurts like hell.

Personally I’m surprised that he doesn’t just go down to the Science Department and say “Hey, you know that Super Serum you.ve been wanting to test out. WELL, you have a VOLANTEER.” so that he can get MEGA-ABS and eat ALL the junk food he wants without getting fat

If you ever played the old Pen and Paper RPG; Paranoia where the Sci-Dep seems to have taken many a clue from… You would know why.
Because Thermonuclear hand-grenades are only a good idea on paper.

We got a mixed case of unlabled grenades.

That said, yeah. Beta-testing R&D’s products can always be Risky Business. As Chris Anvil’s stories have also shown back in the 1950s and 1960s. That said, what Meat will put this guy through is certain while the way R&D’s idea working out is theoretically possible so if I were in his position I would seriously, seriously *consider* it. ^_^;

Yeah, but from the conversation in the strip, the R&D most likely has a higher survival rate

I might need to know what “to shell your own position” means.

To call in bombardment, either orbital, air strike or surface (such as mortars).
